She also helped solve a major crime and raised 13 children, largely on her own. Not only did Jane Elizabeth Barnes (c. 1800 – 1891) reputedly possess remarkable powers to look into the future, she also overcame personal adversity, became highly respected in her community and remains a local legend today.
