description

This small decorative fine china antique plate is a light turquoise colour with gold highlights and a multicolour floral and crown motif in the center. It is made by Paragon, a manufacturer of china in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, Britain, previously the Star China company, and more recently part of the Royal Doulton group.  In mint condition, it commemorates the visit to Canada of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II and H.R.H. Prince Philip for the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway in 1959.

A great gift for collectors of interesting Canadiana and Royal-appointed dishware.
